How can I call Driverly?Once our insurance is available, Driverly will be an app-based insurance provider. This means that you can only call us if you are a Driverly Insurance customer and you have had an accident.

How can I contact Driverly?You can contact us on the app or website. Please note that we're mostly app-based. Our call centre support is limited to claims management, in case our customers have accidents.

How can I lower my insurance premium with Driverly?Our intelligent pricing algorithms (coming soon) are designed to generate very competitive prices for good drivers, but pretty high for reckless drivers. We believe this dynamic model is much fairer to our safe drivers.

What is Driverly?Driverly is a new company based in South Wales with a passion to make car insurance work for safe drivers. Using our app that assesses driving behaviour, we hope to save safe drivers – including you – money on their car insurance.

How does Driverly car insurance work?The Driverly app uses the tech in your smartphone to assess your driving behaviour – such as smoothness of acceleration and braking, speed of turns, mileage etc. This determines who is a safe driver and who isn’t. By insuring safe drivers, Driverly can offer more affordable rates. Driverly Insurance is coming soon!

How will I know if I’ll save money with Driverly?It all depends on your driving behaviour. We hope most of our customers can get a discount for their good driving. Having said that, not everyone gets a discount with Driverly. Reckless drivers may see a price increase if they don't improve their driving behaviour. Stay tuned... our insurance will be out on the market before you know it!

Which phones does Driverly support?On iPhone, Driverly is available on iOS 11.0 or newer versions. On Android devices, our app is available on Android 5.0 or newer.

How can I change my car details on the app?Simple enough. Go to the "Policy" section of your app and change your car details. Please note that changing your car details may affect your price.

How can I manage my marketing consent?Simple. Just go to your "Account" by tapping on your profile picture (or where your profile picture would be) on the top right of your screen, then select "Marketing consent".

My trips aren’t being tracked. What should I do?There are a few things you can do to make sure your app's tracking properly: 1. Make sure you're using the latest version of the Driverly app. If you're not sure, check for updates in the Google Play / iOS store. 2. See that all permissions are enabled. You can find these in the hamburger menu (≡) 3. Be sure that, when you make a trip, battery-saving mode or low-power mode are switched off. Ideally, your phone should be operating at full capacity to properly record your trips.

How can I change my phone number?As easy as you can imagine. Just go to your "Account" by clicking on your profile picture (or where your profile picture would be) on the top right of your screen, then go to "Profile" and change your phone number.

How can I change my email address on the app?Your account is linked to your email address, so it's not exactly straightforward to change your email address. If, for any reason, you have to change your email, please contact us at hello@driverly-insurance.co..uk

Do I have to create a Driverly account?Yes, you can only use our Driverly app if you create an account. Good news is that we've made it easy for you. You can use Google sign-up, Apple sign-up or create your own username and password.

How can I change my home address on the app?Easy. Just go to the "Policy" tab of your app and change your address. Please note that changing your address may affect your price.

How can I set up a Driverly account?Easy. We ask you to create an account the first time you use our app. You can use Google sign-up, Apple sign-up or create your own username and password. Please make sure you use the same login next time too, otherwise you may confuse everyone in our team 😉.

What is Driverly test drive?Our test drive is a way to assess your driving behaviour before you become a Driverly insurance customer. This means you can simply download the app and get acorns for your good driving. As and when you need an insurance policy, it'll be easy: we'll already know a lot about your driving behaviour, so we can give you a fairer price. In the meanwhile, you can enjoy our generous rewards for your safe driving.

Can I use the Driverly app if I'm not a Driverly Insurance customer?Sure. Simply download the app, grant us the necessary permissions, and start driving as you would. The app captures your driving behaviour and rewards your good driving.

What features are available in the Driverly test drive?We're busy developing new features every day, but to sum it up, - you can create an account with us, - monitor your driving scores, - get useful tips to improve your driving score, - earn rewards for your safe driving, and - create a club of good drivers in order to earn even more acorns.

Why's Driverly better than black box insurance?It's much simpler and less intrusive. We never ask you to install a black box in your car. All you need is your mobile phone.

What is my Driverly phone usage score?Your phone usage score assesses whether or not you use your phone while driving. To help us give you a more accurate score, we recommend that you don't let other passengers use your phone either while you're behind the wheel.

Is Driverly black box insurance?No. Like black box insurance policies, Driverly Car Insurance (coming soon) uses your driving data to see if you're a safe driver. However, unlike black box insurance policies, we never ask you to install a black box in your car. All you need is your mobile phone. Simple.

What is telematics?Telematics is using your driving data to price your insurance policy. We think your driving behaviour tells us a lot more than the demographic you happen to fall into! Driving data is gathered using GPS. You can tell a surprising amount about driving behaviour just from your location – such as speed, smoothness, cornering and so on.

Is black box insurance better than the Driverly app?Unless you'd really like to install a black box in your car, we believe Driverly is much better than a black box insurance. With Driverly Car Insurance (coming soon), you get all of the benefits of a black box insurance policy without the hassle of installing a box.

Does the Driverly app need to be open when I drive?No, the app doesn't need to be open. When you sign up to use the Driverly app, make sure to give it the permission to run in the background. You'll also need your location turned on, as we can only offer you our services if we get your location data.

What is my green score?Your green score shows how much of an environmentally friendly driver you are. We care about our planet, and we love people who do too.

What is my Driverly manoeuvring score?Your manoeuvring score shows how smoothly you turn and change lanes. The smoother your driving, the happier your squirrel.

What is my Driverly speed score?Your speed score measures how fast you drive and whether you stick to the speed limit. The faster you drive, the more your squirrel panics!

Why do you use my driving data?We use your driving data to give you a fairer price and improve your experience with Driverly. We believe your driving tells us a lot more than demographics. Also, we use driving feedback and acorns to make our customers safer drivers, and make UK roads safer places for everyone.

What is my Driverly acceleration score?Your acceleration score shows how smoothly you set off. It generally helps to take it easy on your gas pedal.

What is my Driverly braking score?Your braking score indicates how harshly you brake. Plan ahead for your stop, and we'll plan ahead for your acorns!

What driving data do you use?We use your location, speed, acceleration and mobile usage data. We use combinations of these data to build your driving scores.

How do I build my green score?We use your driving and vehicle data to build three sub-scores: fuel, tyres and brakes. We then combine these scores to build your green score.

When do I get my driving score?You need to do a certain amount of driving before we can give you a meaningful score. For this reason, you don’t get a driving score until you’ve been using the app for 7 days, and clocked up at least 30 miles. This also means that, the longer you use the app, the more accurate a reflection your score is of your overall driving ability.

How do you build my driving score?We use your driving data to assess your speed, manoeuvring, braking, acceleration and phone usage. We then combine these to build your driving score.

Can I earn more acorns after cashing in 5 bags?You can earn a maximum of 5 acorns bags at the moment. We're working on a few ideas to unlock some more acorn bags for our users though. Stay tuned!

Will I ever lose my acorns?No, but always try to drive safely. Unsafe driving can put you and others in danger. It can also result in an increase in your price.

How can I use my acorns?For every 100 acorns, you can earn £5 in Amazon vouchers or a £10 Driverly insurance discount.

What is an acorn bag?Every 100 acorns go into an acorn bag. You can use your acorn bags to earn rewards. Make sure to use your acorn bags sooner rather than later, because you can only save 5 acorn bags at any given time.

What's an acorn?Acorns are Driverly's reward points. You can earn acorns for your good driving and use them to get vouchers or discounts.

Do I have to be a Driverly customer to earn acorns?No. You do need to have an account, but you don't need to actually buy anything. You can simply download the Driverly app and benefit from our acorn scheme.

How can I earn acorns?In essence, acorns are awarded for driving well – that is, driving safely. At the moment, after you’ve achieved your first driving score, you receive a weekly allocation of acorns if your driving score is greater than 80. Plus if you’re part of a club, you’ll receive acorns if you win the weekly leaderboard with a score of 80. We do also occasionally have promotions where it’s possible to win more acorns. Keep an eye out for these, as ultimately acorns will lead to rewards.

How many acorns can I earn?A LOT! If you drive very well, you can earn 100 acorns within 20-30 days! You can earn many more through our Driverly Club. Bear in mind that you can only save a maximum 5 acorn bags (500 acorns) at any given time. Use your acorn bags to start stashing them again.

Can I invite someone to my Driverly Club who isn't a Driverly Insurance customer?Of course! There's no requirement for Driverly Club members to be our insurance customers. Feel free to invite your family and friends, as long as you know they're safe drivers. All they'll need to do is to accept your invite, download the app, set up a Driverly account, grant us the necessary permissions and start driving.

What is a Driverly Club leaderboard?You can compete in your club leaderboard on a monthly basis. If you come on top with a driving score of 80 or more, you'll earn up to 50 bonus acorns. The higher your score, the better your rewards.

Will I benefit from no-claim streaks if I'm a club member but not a Driverly insurance customer?Unfortunately no. Only our insurance customers (coming soon) can benefit from our streak badges.

What is Driverly Club?Driverly Club is an opportunity to invite your trusted family and friends and earn acorns together. If no one in the club makes a claim, everyone earns A LOT of acorns. The more people in the club, the bigger your prizes.

Can I compete in Driverly Club leaderboard if I'm not a Driverly Insurance customer?Sure. You can compete in your club leaderboard on a monthly basis. If you come on top with a driving score of 80 or more, you'll earn up to 50 bonus acorns. The higher your score, the better your rewards.

Can I join a Driverly Club if I'm not a Driverly Insurance customer?Absolutely. There's no requirement for Driverly Club members to be our insurance customers. If you're invited to join a Driverly Club, simply accept the invite, download the app, setup a Driverly account, grant us the necessary permissions and start driving.

Can I earn acorns for inviting others to my Driverly Club?From 15 March 2023, we're not giving away acorns for invitations. Sorry!

What's a no-claim streak?If you're a Driverly Car Insurance customer (coming soon), you'll save a lot more through your Driverly Club. The longer no one in your club makes a claim, the larger will be your rewards. For every 6 months of no claims, you earn a new streak badge. You can unlock larger rewards with your new streak badges. If someone in the club makes a claim, everyone in the club will lose their streak badges and start over.

How do Driverly Club tiers work?The more people in your club, the higher your tier. The higher your tier, the larger your rewards!

Why is Driverly a monthly subscription?Unlike most other insurance products in the market, we don't offer annual policies. Driverly Car Insurance (coming soon) is a monthly subscription policy, just like your Netflix. This means that your price is fixed for an initial period of 6 months, but then it can change every month based on your driving behaviour and market conditions.

Do you charge a cancellation fee if I decide to leave Driverly?No. Next! 😁

What if I decide to leave Driverly in the middle of the month?Simple. We'll keep what you've paid for the days you've been covered, and we'll return the rest to you. However, if you made a claim during that time, we'll keep all the premium. All of this is only relevant when our insurance is available, of course. No pressure, team! :)

What is a price lock?When you take out Driverly Insurance (coming soon), your price is fixed for an initial period of 3 months. We call this initial period a price lock. After this period, your price can change every month based on your driving behaviour and market conditions.

Can my prices go up if I'm a very good driver?Unfortunately yes. We aim to be as competitive as possible for our good drivers, but we have to also consider the market conditions. For instance, claims costs may increase as a result of inflation or regulatory changes. In such cases, we will have to adjust our prices accordingly. Good news is that even in these circumstances, being a good driver pays off, as you'll get our most competitive price as a safe driver.

What if I decide to leave Driverly next month?If you decide to leave, you leave. No cancellation fee, no hassle. Just a tap on your mobile app. We'd love you to stay with us, but only as long as you want it too.

Which permissions do I need to give Driverly to be able to use the app?The exact permissions we ask you depends on your smartphone make and model. However, please grant us all of the permissions we request when you sign up to use our app. We only ask you for the necessary permissions, so we won't be able to offer you our services if you don't grant us one or some of these permissions. If still in doubt, you can also check our privacy policy to be assured that we use your data responsibly.

Why do you ask me to agree with your marketing communication?To keep you in the loop, we'll reach out every now and then to tell you about our new products and services. You don't have to opt in… But if you do, we'll make sure we don't inundate your inbox with too many emails and messages.

Why do I need to give you data permissions?Driverly uses your driving behaviour to assess your driving risk. Without this data, Driverly cannot offer you the intended services. But no need to worry; as a reputable and regulated business, we always ask you for your permission before we use your data. We also take your data privacy and data security very seriously.
